Husband and wife duo Laura & Anton had spent years releasing ambitious, creative records in relative obscurity with their experimental pop act Foxtails Brigade when one day they released a simple, home-recorded live video of the old french chanson, “La Vie En Rose”. Having grown up on classic jazz singers like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Astrud Gilberto, front-woman Laura Weinbach holds a love and respect for melody that informs her pure, no-frills approach to vocals, a welcome breath of fresh air in the era of American Idol over-singing. The video went viral, garnering millions of views on youtube, and suddenly Laura & Anton were an international act, being flown around the US, Europe and Asia for live appearances, including a cameo in an Alec Baldwin film.
