Tom “Harpo” Walker is the Scottish, singer/songwriter/harmonica player of Django Blackheart, a Sydney, Australia band, whose acclaimed, debut album “Blues, Roots & Other Fruits” stormed the blues airplay charts in 2022 and was simultaneously #2 in both the UK and Australia.
His first solo album, Bruised Heart Blues, hit #1 in the UK IBBA blues chart shortly after release in May 2023. For this collection of original songs he worked with his teenage music mentor, Paul Hemmings, guitarist of Britpop cult band The La’s, The Lightning seeds and co-founder of The Viper Label record company. They workshopped Tom’s songs in Paul’s studio, next door to Strawberry Field in Liverpool, UK. Blues musicians from Australia, UK, Canada, Argentina and the USA all add their magic to the recordings.
The second single from the album “Start Again” features duet vocals from British Blues Awards winner Dani Wilde and guitar from two times Sydney blues award winner Ewan Lund.
