Clint & The Cosmic Wake is a Texas based blues rock band with an eclectic foundation marrying the group's collective influences of gospel, blues, metal, and southern rock. Clint Echols (vocals, lead guitar) began playing live in the '90s with seasoned musicians in places like the "Chinkapin" in Uncertain, TX. Citing influences such as David Gilmour, Dimebag Darrell, SRV, Alan Fox, and Donnie Pendleton, Clint's riffs initially manifested in the hard rock/metal bands Goodwill Ammunition and Merciful Pete. Clint eventually paired up with rhythm master "Flute Man" Greg McDonald (drums), who began drumming 40 years ago playing in his father's Country band between sermons at church. Dan Giddens (bass) spent nearly a decade playing bass guitar in metal bands before adding his dark spice to the crew. April Echols contributes crafty harmonies, rhythm guitar, and writes unhinged lyrics to melodies you cannot fit in a box. Lately they have released original music with the help of Christian Deibert of Good Shed Studios (Canton, TX) and Tyler Bachor of Funky Frog Studios (Murchison, TX). The band has a singular style of songwriting evident in their wildcard originals and Texas blues rock riffs.
