Born in Marshalltown, Iowa, Country Music is in his Blood. Before Adam’s Whitehead’s time, his father John Whitehead Jr., made his living throughout the 1970’s by way of Country Music. An inspiration for this craft, his father’s voice was smooth, calming and with easy listening tones, which created an influence for Adam throughout his younger years.
Music, along with the likes of Haggard, Cash, and Waylon provided a source of inspiration for AW throughout his childhood and early adulthood. Experiencing an ugly divorce between his parents at a young age, music was his only outlet from the explosive depression which comes with the territory at a tender age of 15, during a time when therapy and counseling services weren’t widely available as they are today. As a youngster, each record he purchased was read cover to cover and each chord was studied from beginning to end. Called a “Troublemaker” and “No Good” by those around him growing up, he made up his mind to prove those words wrong, which is exactly what he has done. In turn, his focus on growing into a better person became evident as the years flew by. Getting back to his routes, Adam, now a full time touring artist, married and has 4 children – one of his own and three from a previous relationship by way of his now wife, Shaina.
A Country Music Association Artist Member, AW burst into the country scene with his debut single, Outlawed, which was featured on Heartland Network, the Country Network’s ‘On The Rise’ and their Top 20 Countdown. Initially, AW’s plans to perform modern country music were made good with nearly a #1 record, in 2020. ‘Single Mom’ with fellow Iowan and Nashville Recording Artist, Dalles Jacobus, shot up the iTunes and Apple Music Country Album Charts to #2 (#19 All-Genre). He shared stages with Struggle Jennings, Tyler Braden, Demun Jones, Sam Grow and others.
Now, Adam routinely performs small town bars, Honkey Tonks, Dance and Pool Halls around the Midwest, predominantly Iowa and Missouri. In 2022, Adam transitioned to roots, blues, with Americana and Rock vibes with the release of “Life and Outlaw Shit”, a fan favorite along with ‘The Way Whitley Done It’. The latter peaking at #45 on the Billboard Top 100 Current Album Chart, #74 on Top Album Sales, and #31 on their Breaking and Entering Chart. A combination of the 90’s vibe complimented by vivid storytelling with a hint of Blues loved by all, follow AW on your favorite social: @imadamwhitehead For booking contact
