Born and Brewed are an original duo formed in 2019 in Portishead, UK. Rich (Beardymud) Sidwick and Mike (Slick) Palomares create an infusion of Americana/Bluegrass/country blues with a gritty edge. Previously playing together for 14 years under the guise of Slick and Rich, the duo’s strong links to the South West’s music scene have helped define their sound. In 2019 Rich’s biggest supporter, his father passed away and he used his music as an outlay writing the duo’s first song Papa Moon for him. This was the beginning of Born and Brewed, which reflects Rich’s challenges with mental health and addiction. He hopes that through music he can help and inspire others to heal. They are currently working on their first album Born and Brewed Est, which reflects their life stories in an authentic way through music. Rich’s raspy vocals provide a smoky quality to the music, whilst Mike’s bluesy slide guitar provides an atmospheric backdrop that enhances their journey. Influenced by Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Larkin Poe, The Dead South, Colter Wall and Chris Rea, music continues to unite them to create unique and original songs.
