Little Violet is a band from the UK fronted by the female singer, songwriter and pianist Cherie Gears. Classic vocal-jazz-inspired, even vintage sounding songs, combined with great melodies, witty lyrics and contemporary but swung beats proved quite the combination, matching influences from 20s and 30s swing with modern production.
Laura Weinbach and Anton Patzner of Bay Area indie art-pop group Foxtails Brigade, taper down from their usual full-band arrangement to an intimate French-cafe jazz combo. The two bring their more hidden but equally engaging talent for elegant French chanson, Golden Era jazz standards and romantic original songs.
Rapidly growing their reputation on the UK rock & roll and swing dance scenes, The Catfish Kings feature five guys rooted in the music they all grew up with. Harry Lang, vocals and guitar, Terry Black, saxophone, Big Al Chaplin on piano, supported by the swinging-est rhythm section you could wish for, John Skelton II on bass and David Lacey drums.
